Then what about Erasmus+?

Then what about Erasmus+?

Are you a student with wanderlust? Do you like studying but still feel that you want something new in your life? Do you like travelling but your budget is limited? If your answers are yes, then what about applying for an Erasmus+ scholarship? Trust me, it’s worth it! I am already at my 3rd Erasmus+ mobility and since I left home for academic purposes my life has changed considerably.

But wait! Do you know what Erasmus+ is? Well, it’s an incredible program for students from all over Europe and some other partner countries. It is addressed to students from all cycles of study (BA, MA, and PhD.) that want to go and study abroad for one or two semesters. Is this reason not enough? Then read this carefully. The European Commission helps students by offering a grant. In this way it encourages learners even more to benefit from an Erasmus+ mobility, which would broaden our horizon, would improve our personal and professional abilities and would have a lot of influence upon us. And this is just a part. Think about all the international people you’ll make and with whom you are going to travel here and there and not last, all the kitchen parties. I am sure you’ve heard of them. You know that the university years are the best of your life, don’t you? Then why not making them even greater? Remember that you are young, beautiful and at this age you CAN do whatever you want. Get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself for more!

And I still haven’t told you all. There are too many benefits and you should experience them on your own, but let me share some of mine with you. When I look back to my study semesters abroad in Germany and Austria, I remember of my favourite teachers, my amazing USA History classes, the wonderful greetings and congratulations from my American, German or Austrian teachers. And trust me, I do not exaggerate! This is what actually happened. I am not the best student in the world, but when I love what I study, I unconsciously show my dedication through my behaviour and comments. Also, the simple fact of contributing with another cultural perspective comments during classes brought me my teachers’ appreciation. You cannot compare the feelings of passing an exam at your home university with the pumping heart you have before an exam abroad. It’s simply different!

So, have you decided? Have I given you enough reasons for going to study abroad? If so, then I can only say: choose a flag and pack your bag because <Once Erasmus, always Erasmus!>.

Eduk8 Starter in Timisoara – 20-28 February, 2016

Do you want to become a trainer? Guess what, we’ve got the right resources for you!

Timisoara will be the city of fame starting this February because this is where the first edition of Eduk8 Starter’s grant year will take place!

Timisoara is a city of roses and parks, also known as the „Little Vienna” because of its architectural character and vibrant cultural life. The city is home to year-round musical and theatrical performances, art galleries, museums and a buzzing nightlife. A progressive, cosmopolitan place, Timisoara was the first city in Europe to use electricity to illuminate its public streets! It is one of the most attractive urban areas of Romania, built around a series of beautiful public squares and lavish gardens. Even in winter a walk in one of its parks is truly charming. The downtown pedestrian area is a must if you find yourself in Timisora. And we hope you will, because between February 20th and 28th, 2016, the first edition of this year’s Eduk8 starter will happen.

Eduk8 is ESN’s international training project, which aims to empower ESN members to allow them to perform better in their ESN daily tasks. Also Eduk8 aims to create a pool of Trainers empowered with the tools and knowledge needed to educate and develop fellow members in the network. Every day ESN’ers all over Europe, work hard to support and develop our colourful network and while doing so they gain new skills and competences. These skills and competences can be hard to identify and put words to and that is where Eduk8 can make a difference. Eduk8 facilitates activities where underlying soft-skills can be identified and where participants can share know-how and learn from one another in a structured, conscious, and fun way.

The Eduk8 Starter Timișoara’s edition had received 95 complete application forms, and only 50 ESN’ers were the luckiest ones to be selected. With the help of ESN Timișoara’s volunteers and Eduk8’s trainers, we guarantee that you’ll have the most interactive training ever. The participants will have so much fun, will learn a lot one from another, and will pass on their knowledge to others.
